Wich branches can you simulate with STANET?
All kind of utility networks such as gas, water and electricity. There are special STANET packages that are dedicated to calculate district heating, steam and liquid carbon dioxide.
How can you edit network data?
You can edit and add network elements like pipes, lines, consumption ( houses and consumer tariff meters) that are essential to calculate and simulate a network yourself via mouse directly into the network plan. For your general orientation within your network you can add background images in various formats (DXF, TIFF e.g. These days it is very common to import the data directly from a GIS or CAD system into STANET by using customized interfaces.
Are there any (GIS, CAD) STANET interfaces?
There are dedicated export interfaces for the most common GIS and Cad systems. You can define your own import configuration, so that you can import data that is coming in ASCI-Text, ODBC, Shape (ESRI, open Source products), MID - MIF (Mapinfo) or DXF (AutoCAD) file format.
Can I also run dynamic calculations?
Aside of steady-state or stationary simulation you can also run dynamic calculation (extended period simulation for the medium water) and calculate unsteady flow conditions like network respiration within gas networks or the state of water storage in tanks. There is also a STANET extension that lets you calculate pressure surges in water and district heating networks
